Applying Non-Local Means Filter on Seismic Exploration

The seismic reflection method is one of the most important methods in geophysical exploration. There are three stages a exploration survey: acquisition, processing, and interpretation. This paper focuses on pre-processing tool, Non-Local Means (NLM) filter algorithm, which powerful technique that can significantly suppress noise data. However, domain NLM algorithm whole dataset 3D data being very large, often exceeding terabyte (TB), it impossible to store all Random Access Memory (RAM). Furthermore, would require considerably long runtime. These factors make straightforward implementation real infeasible. redesigned implemented fit challenges optimized capable processing production-size modern clusters 87 times faster than NLM.
